Erika Mackinnon has established a dedicated and purposeful career in medical sales over the past five years. Her expertise includes business development, strategic planning, revenue growth, market research, sales forecasting, new product presentations, account management, and client relationship development. Since 2020, she has worked in medical device sales with a specialized focus on Spine. As a Spine Specialist and Sales Associate, she works in the operating room daily, assisting surgical teams and offering in-depth product knowledge to support clinical procedures.

Erika entered the medical sales field after completing a rigorous 440-hour postgraduate program at Medical Sales College in Sarasota, Florida. She earned certification in Spine, Orthopedic Reconstruction, and Trauma upon graduation. This program provided her with a solid foundation in regenerative medicine, consultative selling techniques, trauma and orthopedic devices, and business strategies that support territory growth and customer acquisition.

Mackinnon developed strong technical knowledge in spine, biologics, orthopedic reconstruction, trauma, and sports medicine. Her education also included anatomy, physiology, pathology, biomechanics, orthobiologics, and medical terminology. With additional training in operating room protocols and hospital call points, she became skilled in identifying provider needs and communicating product advantages within surgical settings.

While earning her certification, Erika began working as a Sales Associate at SS Fusion Medica in Tampa, Florida. She assisted with territory coverage, scheduled meetings with medical teams, and built relationships with clinical and administrative staff.

After one year, she accepted a position at Globus Medical in Memphis, Tennessee. Over the past four years, Erika has supported organizational growth by managing provider relations, expanding market reach, and assisting in a wide range of spine procedures, including ACDF, PCF, TLIF, PLIF, ALIF, lateral lumbar interbody fusion, and spinal deformity surgeries.

Mackinnon earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminology from Florida State University in 2016. She began her professional career as a Chief Legislative Intern for the Florida Senate, where she drafted policy materials, tracked legislative progress, and engaged with constituents, nonprofit groups, and lobbyists. She later served as a junior lobbyist and political fundraiser, gaining experience in advocacy and donor engagement.

Her career continued as a Business Development Analyst at GSSP in Stamford, Connecticut, where she conducted policy analysis, offered strategic business counsel, and coordinated major real estate and tax equity transactions. Erika then served as Deputy Finance Director at The O’Rourke Group, where she built and maintained donor networks, led outreach efforts, and supported fundraising campaigns for political and charitable initiatives.

Mackinnon also holds several professional certifications, including AdvaMed Code of Ethics, HIPAA, Aseptic Technique and Infection Control, Bloodborne Pathogens, Electrical Safety, Fire Safety, National Patient Safety, and Protocol Certification.

Beyond her career, Erika has a personal interest in interior design. After purchasing her home, she redesigned the space by combining traditional, vintage, and modern styles. She enjoys antique shopping and transforming older items into updated, functional pieces. While it remains a hobby, she has considered exploring it further.

As a mother of two, Erika enjoys cooking and is known for preparing visually appealing and flavorful meals. Cooking provides her with a creative outlet and a way to share meaningful moments with her family. She also supports charitable causes, including the Salvation Army and the Humane Society, contributing to efforts that assist needy individuals and promote animal welfare.

Erika Mackinnon continues to grow in her medical sales career while balancing personal passions, family life, and a commitment to serving her community.
